Title:
"Gearhead
Robot "
Comment::
Flash Gordon could put this guy to work right away.
He
was all hand-thrown and sculpted. Then he was glazed with a metallic, grungy,
bronze/black lava glaze that came out especially nice. There are lots of metallic
flashed areas. He was high-fired. Then he was refired with metallic lusters to
accentuate the old space robot look. The inside is glazed with a lead-free, food
safe glaze. This mechanics nightmare looks like a fugitive from somelong idle
factory. He has LOTS OF GEARS and lots of detail.
(I'm worn out from carving
gear teeth in clay). He has a toggle switch tongue , a pressure guage ear (so
he can keep track of his steam presure) and, did I mention, GEARS. He has a I.d.
plate on the back and is also signed on the bottom. He is the third in a series
of "Steampunk" robot jugs and #28 of the last 1000 face jugs.. Check
back for more.
I spent the last 7 years doing junk sculpture so this guy is
kind of a natural extension of that process except he is made of clay pieces instead
of metal.
